Hobbies / Passion

I’ve loved baking since young, learning from my aunt who shares the same passion for desserts. What started as a weekend hobby of trying out recipes and sharing them with family and friends gradually grew into my mini home-based baking page in 2019. With their encouragement, I continue to bake seasonal treats and experiment with new recipes, not for profit but to share joy through food. Baking remains a cherished hobby that helps me de-stress, and I’m grateful for the support of my loved ones and returning customers who enjoy my creations.

I named my baking page Issyo (一绪), meaning togetherness in Japanese, as my goal has always been to bring people closer through food. Since 2019, I’ve been sharing seasonal bakes during festivals like Chinese New Year, Christmas, and Malaysia’s Independence Day. My best-seller, the Choux au Craquelin, is often requested in new festive-inspired flavors — such as kaya for Merdeka.

What began as a passion project has grown into a page with a supportive following, for which I’m truly grateful. Along the way, I’ve gained more than baking skills — I’ve also learned customer service, feedback management, and even collaboration, such as working with a local coffee brand. Issyo continues to be my way of spreading joy, creativity, and togetherness through desserts.
