In 2019, my team and I have been nominated to take on the employer project in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to raise awareness of cancer and early detection. It was truly a high honor to be nominated and to be part of this project. We have organized a fundraising event for the NCSM and have successfully raised RM600.

This was a very memorable experience to have such an honorable accomplishment during my college years with my college mates. It was nerve-wracking for me to work closely and present our project to the executive levels of NCSM. I am more grateful than ever to NCSM for giving us such a golden opportunity and for granting us the chance to learn. This experience definitely aided us in preparing to work with big organizations in the future and to improve our public speaking skills. I also learned a little about children with cancer disease, which is related to my field of study and can be a future direction for me to work on. I’ve learned about the skills and knowledge required to handle these children with cancer disease as the disease greatly affects their emotions and physical growth, especially after the treatment sessions. I did gain a lot of new knowledge from this educative experience and it is a new field for me to consider in pathing my future career to help these children with more care and understanding needed.

On the 5th of August 2019, my team members and I had our employer project presentation at the NCSM office. I am grateful to our lecturer, Ms. Punitha for giving us the opportunity to get entitled to an employer engagement project. This was definitely a golden opportunity for me to get entitled and to present our contribution to the executive levels of NCSM. Not to mention, I also felt honored to represent INTI International College Subang. I never imagined having this day coming and with my team members, we completed our presentation smoothly. Without the support and cooperation of my team members, it would be impossible to achieve what we did on the day itself. Last but not least, I am also thankful to NCSM for giving us the opportunity and for trusting us in our work. As the board of directors of NCSM talks to us and gives us a tour around the facility, I realize that our contribution from this project is far from what they’ve contributed to the cancer community. I choose to remain humble and have great respect for every person working in NCSM for their contributions.
