Learning Milestones

Career Week
Intel Technology Sdn. Bhd.
On 24th January, I attended a career preparation workshop by Mr. Alex from INTEL on the topic of building your professional profile. The valuable insight I’ve obtained from the session with Mr. Alex was the thing to note on LinkedIn. Mr. Alex has shared the tips to create a good profile which include: treating your LinkedIn profile as your real resume, using a professional picture, summarizing your own story, portraying your achievements, last but not least, adding multimedia into your summary. He also talked about the importance of having a good profile. According to Mr. Alex, having a well-presented and managed profile allows us to be easily connected and noticed by recruiters. It also speeds up the communication with recruiters as there’s no need for time to wait for a response if our profile is sufficiently detailed. I learned that it is crucial to complete your LinkedIn profile to the fullest because we’ll never know what is the piece of item or skill that the recruiter is looking for in the candidates. Mr. Alex stated that about 95% of recruiters today still utilize LinkedIn to source for top-tier candidates. Keep in mind that it’s important to optimize your LinkedIn profile, make sure it's updated from time to time, and use it proactively to source for opportunities effectively. As a final year student preparing for future careers after graduation, this is a very important knowledge that I’ve obtained from Mr. Alex to truly understand and to ace in creating my LinkedIn profile. I think that this workshop is indeed very important for candidates like me because it opens a stairway to great career opportunities for us.

Career Week
INTERNSPOON Sdn. Bhd.
On 25th January, I attended a career preparation workshop by Miss Hardip from INTERSPOON on the topic of communication skills at the workplace. One of the valuable insights for me was the sample of how different interns texted employers for job inquiries on Whatsapp. I learned from Miss Hardip to be cautious whenever I apply for job openings despite the platforms the employers are using. Applying this incident, INTERSPOON may have tried to be a little more casual to job applications where they allow interns to reach out to them by Whatsapp instead of a formal application via email. However, applicants should always maintain professionalism when they are writing to their employers. The second valuable insight I learned was the “4 communication skills to succeed in a workplace”. I learned that the 4 key skills are active listening, confidence, open-mindedness, and non-verbal communication. I learned that active listening is important so that we can respond appropriately as well as have confidence. As for open-mindedness, I learned that it is important to always be open-minded and able to accept criticism, disagreement, and other’s opinions so that working together with others is possible for one in a workplace. I also realize the importance of paying attention to others’ non-verbal signals when we are talking so that we are aware of their non-verbal cues. Overall, it was a very informative and insightful sharing by Miss Hardip as she has alerted me to a lot of tiny points that I do not pay attention to.

Naga DDB Tribal
INTI Leadership Series
On 16 February, I attended the INTI Leadership Series (ILS) with Mr. Kristian Lee, the Chief Executive Officer of Naga DDB Tribal. I learned about the key lesson about leadership. According to Mr. Kristian, leadership is a two-way process. Communication is the key to better, faster, and more effective decision-making. A leader with good communication skills will also be able to obtain necessary information while communicating with their employees whether it’s just a casual conversation or during a formal discussion. Agreeing with Mr. Kristian, I do think that communication skill is something people often overlook yet it can greatly impact how we play our roles. I think it is also important to listen to team players so that they know their voices are heard. I also learned that the defining trait of leadership is vision and that company culture is built on core values. I think that it is important for brands or organizations to remain true to their core values to give consumers the purpose of buying their products and services. Adding on to that, Mr. Kristian also emphasizes the need to remind staff of the organization's culture and values from time to time to maintain its consistency. To conclude, I find the session with Mr. Kristian very insightful about how leadership has evolved during the pandemic era and the key lessons. It is interesting to learn different handling methods during different crises.

First Aid and Emergency First Respond
Hanniel Consulting PLT
On January 2024, I attended a First Aid Training session during my employment with Julia Gabriel Preschool, conducted by an instructor from Hanniel Consulting. The training emphasized the importance of being prepared for emergencies, especially in environments where young children are under our care. One of the key lessons I learned was that first aid is not just about knowledge, but also about calmness and confidence in applying it. The instructor highlighted how quick thinking and clear communication can make a significant difference in critical situations. We practiced responding to scenarios such as choking, burns, and fainting, which are highly relevant in a preschool setting.
I also realized the importance of teamwork during emergencies. As the instructor explained, first aid often requires coordination—while one person administers care, another may need to call for help or ensure the safety of others. This reinforced my belief that communication and collaboration are essential not only in daily work but also in unexpected situations. To conclude, I found the session very valuable, as it equipped me with practical skills and the confidence to respond to emergencies. Most importantly, it reminded me of the responsibility we carry as educators—not only to guide children in learning but also to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.

Activity Implemention Plan (RPA)
Darul Qalam Educare
In May 2024, I attended classes on the Activity Implementation Plan (Rancangan Pelaksanaan Aktiviti, RPA) conducted by Darul Qalam Educare. The session gave me valuable insights into how to structure daily activities effectively to support children’s holistic development. One of the main lessons I learned was that an RPA should not only guide the flow of lessons but also ensure that activities are developmentally appropriate and engaging. The instructor emphasized the importance of setting clear objectives for each activity so that children benefit cognitively, socially, and emotionally. I also realized the significance of flexibility in implementing the plan. While structure is important, it is equally crucial to adapt activities based on the children’s responses and needs. This reinforced my understanding that every classroom dynamic is unique, and teachers must be responsive to ensure meaningful learning experiences. The training also highlighted that documentation through RPA is an important tool for reflection. By recording what worked well and what could be improved, educators can continuously refine their practices and create better learning environments. To conclude, the RPA session was very insightful and practical, as it equipped me with strategies to plan, implement, and reflect on classroom activities more effectively. It reminded me that thoughtful planning combined with flexibility is the key to nurturing children’s growth in a well-rounded way.

National Preschool Standard Curriculum (KSPK)
Darul Qalam Educare
In May 2024, I attended a series of classes on the National Preschool Standard Curriculum (KSPK) organized by Darul Qalam Educare. The training gave me a deeper understanding of the framework that guides early childhood education in Malaysia and how it shapes both teaching approaches and learning outcomes. One of the key lessons I learned was that KSPK emphasizes holistic child development—covering not only cognitive growth, but also language, physical, social, and emotional development. The trainer highlighted how important it is for teachers to design activities that balance these areas, ensuring every child’s potential is nurtured. I also learned the importance of structured yet flexible planning. While the curriculum provides clear learning standards, it also allows room for creativity and adaptation to meet children’s unique needs and interests. This made me reflect on my own teaching practices and the need to continuously adapt my methods to keep learning both engaging and effective. The session further stressed that values and character-building are integral to KSPK. Beyond academic skills, teachers are responsible for instilling respect, empathy, and discipline in young learners—qualities that form the foundation of lifelong learning. To conclude, the training was highly insightful as it reinforced my role as an educator in implementing KSPK with purpose and creativity. It reminded me that following the national standard is not only about meeting requirements, but also about creating meaningful learning experiences that support children’s all-round growth.
