In May 2022, I began my psychology internship (PSY443S) at Seni Children’s Discovery House, Mont Kiara, and successfully completed the program in August 2022, officially marking the end of my Bachelor’s degree journey.
The 3 month internship was a valuable chapter in my learning journey. From the very first day, I was warmly welcomed and guided by supportive colleagues, empathetic parents, and cheerful children. I was also given the opportunity to explore the Montessori method of teaching, which was not part of my degree syllabus but became one of the most rewarding takeaways from this placement.
I am grateful for the trust placed in me to assist and even lead lesson plans under supervision. Through daily practice, observation, and feedback, I was able to strengthen my interpersonal skills, ethical understanding, classroom management, and emotional connection with children. This hands-on experience allowed me to grow not just as a future educator, but also as a person.
Looking back, my internship at Seni Children’s Discovery House was more than just a requirement for graduation—it was a truly enriching experience that shaped my professional values and deepened my passion for early childhood education.
