On May 2022, I enrolled for my psychology internship (PSY443S) and completed the program by August 2022, officially bringing my Bachelor’s degree journey to an end.
My psychology internship was a 3 months duration program. I've interviewed at the Seni Children's Discovery House, Mont Kiara and was opportune to be their intern. During my days at Seni Children's Discovery House, I was well-guided, well-equipped, and welcomed by my colleagues. It was a wonderful experience for me to work alongside good colleagues, empathetic parents, and adorable children. I am grateful for the opportunities given to learn about Montessori teachings and to be trusted for my skills as an intern in leading a lesson plan. To sum up my 3 months of experience at Seni Children's Discovery House as an intern, it is a perfect environment for me to work on my personal growth, interpersonal skills, ethical skills, and most importantly affection. Noting that Montessori wasn’t part of my degree course, this is a well gained experience for me to be taught about Montessori teachings during my internship period. Never ever did I put this opportunity to waste, instead I by questioning, observing, practicing and illustrating under my supervisor’s supervision to grade my skills.
Attempting to communicate with a new Japanese student who has language barrier as she’s barely understands and speak English. I spent time communicating with her through free drawing to gain her trust and to understands her personality better. Meanwhile, speaking simple Japanese and English to her to be comfortable and be familiar with the school environment.
